Just a few days after its 60th anniversary, the Riviera Las Vegas will forever shut its doors. The historic casino celebrates its anniversary on April 20 and closes on May 4 at 12 noon. A press release shipped this week revealed the news of the closure, which was completed just a few months after the landmark was purchased by the Convention and Visitors Authority in Las Vegas for approximately $ 190 million.

Up to 1,000 jobs will be lost with the closure and shortly after consolidation, a sale will take place. In the press release, the Riviera thanked customers for the expression of love and loyalty since the construction of the casino in 1954.

When the casino closes on May 4, the National Content Inc group from Springboro, Ohio, will liquidate the furniture, appliances and facilities of the legendary Las Vegas casino, including 40 gaming tables and 920 slot machines. The liquidation sale of $ 3 million will take place on May 14 and will continue until the asset is sold out.
